A Little Bit About Me

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m all about informalities. So let’s get straight to it! My name is Jenna Gillian Diaz. I’m a proud, first-generation Filipina/Chinese-American born in Torrance, California and raised in Long Beach, California. My love for photography, specifically landscape and documentary photography, stems from my dad’s early aspirations of becoming an award-winning director. He always dreamed of directing a film that could surmount to beloved classics like Casablanca or It Happened One Night (my dad’s favorite film of ALL TIME). When I was younger, my dad would turn on Art Wolfe’s PBS travel series, Art Wolfe’s Travels to the Edge, and rant to me about what ultimately constituted a good photo as well as the value of both identifying and capturing the beauty in every day. And at the end of it all, that’s my primary intention—sharing tidbits and moments that make life worth living.
